The painting is 78 x 26 inches and was painted as an official approved portrait under license to the owners of Makybe Diva.
Michael's highest sale to date is £29,520 for his portrait of Australian author, Tim Winton, which took 600 brushwork hours to paint.
The Makybe Diva painting took 1000 brushwork hours to capture every muscle and sinew in a representational portrait of the highest standard.
The painting represents a triptych from Makybe Divas 2005 win in the Melbourne Cup.
Makybe Diva is a British bred, Australian trained thoroughbred who became the first and, to date, only racehorse to win the famed Melbourne Cup on three occasions: 2003, 2004 and 2005.
She is by Desert King (winner of Irish Derby) out of Tugela by Riverman (USA).
Makybe Diva is the highest stakes earner in Australian horse racing history with winnings of more than £8.7 million.
Makybe Diva is one of only five horses to have won the cup more than once since it commenced in 1861.
The Artist will be available for an "official handover in person to the highest bidder."
